This might be a stupid question to ask but for all you “Sex and the City” fans out there: I just became a fan of the show and I just wanted to know what religion was Charlotte York (Kristin Davis’ character) before she converted into Judaism for Harry? I think it was mentioned in season 5 or 6 but I didn’t quite get it.

    Sorry, I don’t know, but now you’ve got me wondering. I’ve seen that episode about 4 times in reruns, and it never occurred to me that they had ever told us what she was before. I just assumed that she was some kind of protestant.
    I can’t imagine a Catholic or Baptist changing to Judaism, I figured she would have had to have been something more openminded, like Presbyterian, or non-practicing some other religion, or agnostic.

    They never really say what her pre conversion religion was but I think it was just generally assumed that she was Protestant Christian, and with a name like York might have been Episcopalian.
